Pack 451 Den Leaders

Job Descriptions

Cubmaster - Works directly with the pack trainer, Tiger Cub den leaders, Cub Scout den leaders, Webelos den leaders, den chiefs and pack committee chair and members to make sure that all dens are functioning well. Plans the den and pack programs with the help of other leaders. Leads the monthly pack meeting with the help of others. Coordinates the total Cub Scout program in the pack.

Committee Chair - Oversees all Pack activities.  Acts at the liaison to the District and Council.

Treasurer - Attends to the finances of the Pack.

Asst. Cubmaster - Helps the Cubmaster as needed. Conducts the monthly den chief planning meeting for all den leaders. Helps inform pack leaders of training opportunities.

Pack Trainer - Conducts orientation of new families and pack leaders. Trains each new leader and pack committee member for his/her position. Helps with Unit Leadership Enhancements during pack leaders' meetings.

Activity Badge Counselor - Provides activity badge instruction at Webelos den meetings, as requested by the Webelos den leader. Helps Webelos Scouts gain self-confidence in completing projects.

Advancements Coordinator - Obtains advancements and recognition awards from the Scout Shop.  Keeps Pack leaders informed of new scouting recognition programs.

Tiger Cub Den Leader - Gives leadership in carrying out the pack program in the den. Leads the den in its participation in pack meetings.

Cub Scout Den Leader - Gives leadership in carrying out the pack program in the den. Helps the Cubmaster recruit new boys throughout the year. Collect weekly den dues and turn them in to the pack treasurer.

Asst. Cub Scout Den Leader - Helps the den leader as needed. Is ready to fill in for the den leader in case of emergency. Establish close working relationship with the den leader and den chief, functioning with them as a den leadership team.

Webelos Den Leader - Gives leadership to planning and carrying out a year-round program of activities for the Webelos den to achieve the purposes of Cub Scouting. Helps train the Webelos den chief and guide him in working with Webelos Scouts.

Asst. Webelos Den Leader - Helps the Webelos den leader as needed. Helps establish and maintain good relationships with neighborhood Boy Scout troops into which Webelos Scouts will graduate.

Cub Scout Den Chief - Knows and helps Cub Scouts achieve the purposes of Cub Scouting. Serves as the activities assistant at den meetings. Meets regularly with the den leader to review den and pack meeting plans.

Webelos Den Chief - Knows and helps Webelos Scouts achieve the purposes of Cub Scouting. Sets a good example through attitude and uniforming. Help Webelos Scouts in their work with activity badge counselors.
